Academic conference “Integration of teaching methodology and research work in the study process” was held at RTU FEEM

On 27 April 2018, Faculty of Engineering Economics and Management, Riga Technical University, organized academic conference “Integration of teaching methodology and research work in the study process”.

Professor Elīna Gaile-Sarkane, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Economics and Management, RTU, opened the conference. The main speakers of the conference were representatives of universities of Latvia:

  • Professor Tatjana Volkova (BA School of Business and Finance)  Integration of methodological and research work in the study process;
  • Professor Uldis Sukovskis (Riga Technical University) Challenges in quality assurance in higher education;
  • Professor Tatjana Koķe (Riga Stradiņš University) Contemporary trends in teaching methodology and lifelong learning.

During the conference, discussion and debate participants focussed on teaching methodology, exchange of experience while exploring the latest didactic methods and approaches to the study process implementation, as well as challenges in providing study courses, the modern teaching methods, approaches and international experience.

The conference was organized in two parallel sections:

  • Organizational and methodological challenges in contemporary studies;
  • Digitalization – the potential of using information technology in higher education.

The aim of the conference was to share experience in integrating teaching methodology and research work in the study process.
