GSCM RANEPA at the AMBA online meeting for DBA programmes among accredited schools

Graduate School of Corporate Management took part in the Discussion on DBA Programme Cooperation Opportunities Among AMBA-Accredited DBA Schools on May 20th.

AMBA (Association of MBAs) is a renowned global organization, which focuses on international business school accreditation and membership.

The discussion was opened with a welcoming speech by Andrew Main Wilson, CEO of AMBA & BGA, and Steef van de Velde, Chairman of AMBA's International Accreditation Advisory Board. Then each participating school made a short presentation displaying their DBA programme, its highlights, and the currents goals and challenges.

GSCM DBA programme was represented by GSCM Dean Sergey Kalendzhyan, DBA programme director Svetlana Korobeinikova and Vice Dean for International Development and Accreditations Olga Gumilevskaya.

One of the topical issues discussed was the impact the DBA programmes make on business and society, how to measure it and how to make this impact grow. Another important question raised was highlighting the difference between DBA and PhD programmes: while PhD programmes focus on making a social impact via the development of science, DBA aims to implement the scientific data into the business practices.

GSCM is the first Russian business school to launch a DBA programme (2002). Today GSCM DBA programme is the only programme in Russia and throughout the post-Soviet space, which has AMBA accreditation (2017). In total, only 11 business schools in the world have this prestigious accreditation.

It was a great honour for GSCM to take part in this discussion!
