“MIM-KYIV RECOMMENDS” SERIES NEW RELEASE

This August, Ukrainian translation of the New York Times bestseller “Leadership Strategy and Tactics: Field Manual” by Jocko Willink, a retired U.S. Navy SEAL officer and a well-known author, was released as a part of the "MIM-Kyiv Recommends" series.

Management is often compared to the military where teamwork is more important for success than individual efforts.   In this respect, Mr. Willink’s 20 years of military service and rising through the ranks experiences are especially valuable.

Being a leader is hard. Being new to leadership is even harder. The author shares his rich experience by answering the most pending questions: How to lead your former peers when you get promoted? How to overcome the imposter syndrome? How to manage fairly?

“Humbleness, letting your ego, balancing control and aggression make leaders effective.  Taking responsibility is another feature of good leadership,” Olena Kirianova, MIM-Kyiv’s professor shares her opinion about the importance of the book for the Ukrainian business community.

For many business leaders, the concept of leadership which is based on adapting to team members through the various individual situations, listening intently, and observing people’s responses is rather innovative. That’s why the fact that the book contains both ideas and application tools adds value to it.

After retiring, Jocko co-founded Echelon Front, a multi-million dollar leadership and management consulting company, authored bestselling books, and created a top-ranking podcast called the Jocko Podcast.
