AlmaU startups competing for investments
The first Central Asia's largest startup conference, Innovation Congress TechConnect Astana was held in the capital of Kazakhstan.
Almaty Management University is a business partner of the event. There was a competition «StartUp Battle» as part of TechConnect.Tech, which was attended by our students: Kirill Tsoi with the project "Animation Book" Erlan Nurtayev - «Postero Green», and Yersaiyn Tamabayev - «Infalike».
The conference was attended by 150 investors, founders of the 100 best start-ups and 1,500 visitors from Central Asia, the United States, Europe and the CIS.
20 international experts in venture capital investment and innovation were speakers at TechConnect.Tech. Among the investors were Kaushal Chokshi (international network of investors Cross Border Angels), March Emerson (venture fund Scaale Group) and Igor Shoyfot (venture fund TMT Investments). The world-known expert in marketing and social media Shervington Martin, author of the bestseller «The Lean Entrepreneur» Brent Cooper and others shared with innovative strategies for business development.
In addition to the thematic panel session and presentations within the event there were meetings with the Prime Minister and members of the government of Kazakhstan, heads of the largest companies in the country and IT-entrepreneurs from Europe and the CIS. 100 startups from Europe, USA, CIS and Central Asia presented their projects in the area of the EXPO.
