AlmaU's project on the quality management system in partnership with a university in Tajikistan has been successfully completed

Since February 2019, Almaty Management University and the Tajik State University of Commerce have jointly implemented the project «Providing technical assistance in the development and implementation of a quality management system at the Tajik State University of Commerce» funded by the World Bank. This project became a new stage in the development of education in Tajikistan, as well as deepening partnerships between the two countries.

For two years, Almaty Management University (Kazakhstan) experts have provided consulting support and conducted training seminars for colleagues from Tajikistan. The main participants of the project from AlmaU were the director of the center for innovative educational programs - Ayimgul Tleuzhanova, the QMS expert - Natalya Matsynina, experts in the field of education - Gulmira Kurganbayeva and Almagul Kanagatova, as well as other employees of the University. The project coordinator is Darya Nelidova, Head of the international cooperation at AlmaU.

 

Project timeline

Spring 2019: The first visit of the TSUC working group to AlmaU - Almaty in the following composition: Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Public Relations - Kadyrova Zarina Halimovna, Head of International Relations Mubina Abduvalieva, faculty and management staff of TSUK. During the week, the TSUC working group studied the experience of AlmaU in the development and implementation of a quality management system. Also, the guests met with students from Tajikistan and were able to get acquainted with the culture and traditions of Kazakhstan while representatives visited the Abai Opera and Ballet Theater.

April-June 2019: Two trips of AlmaU experts to the Republic of Tajikistan. Experts shared their experience, presented recommendations and expert advice on improving educational programs at TSUC.

August 2020: The final stage of the project was completed online. Training and consulting were conducted on improving educational programs taking into account the influence of external risks, indicators for assessing the quality of educational programs were considered, an audit of the QMS was conducted at a partner university, and the university employees were trained to work in the field of QMS. Following the results of the intensive module, AlmaU experts presented recommendations for improving the educational process.

AlmaU has been working closely with TSUC since 2018 in various areas, including the implementation of joint events and projects, mobility programs, information exchange, and others. AlmaU annually accepts students from Tajikistan to study in basic educational programs. Together with the Consulate of the Republic of Tajikistan in Almaty, AlmaU accompanies international students in matters of stay in our country.
