Business Case Olympiad in St. Petersburg

TSEBA students achieved the 3rd place in the business case Olympiad in St. Petersburg.

TSEBA students participated in the three weeks long business case Olympiad (Challenge Spring Cup SPb) in St. Petersburg and achieved in the final the 3rd place.

TSEBA was represented by second and third year business students: Arutyun Arutyunyan, Diana Brodskaja, Dmitrii Ĺ elepov and Ella Svarval. The team name was TTU and the mentor was lector Ilzija Ahmet. 

More than 250 teams (1000 people) participated in the first round. The TSEBA team passed successfully the first, internet round as well as the second round, i.e. semi-final. Presentations by TUT team were most prominent and as the judges said the students were very creative and with good skills of analysis.

During three weeks they solved a Harvard format business case on the basis of data and problems of three really existing firms. The cases in this competition were supplied by well-known firms: Russian fast-food firm Teremok, international pharmaceuticals group Novartis and a St. Petersburg firm Landmark Development, which is operating in the sphere of higher education. To solve these cases the participants had to demonstrate their analysing skills and work in a team, and finally present their solution.  

The decisions were assessed by representatives of case firms and of major audit and consulting firms in the region. Among the judges and sponsors of the Challenge Spring Cup were such well-known names as Deloitte, London School of Business and Finance etc. 

The championship Challenge Spring Cup SPb is the first and biggest independent case championship series in Russia. The championships are held in five cities where more than 6000 students attend every year. The championships are a place where prestigious employers and talented young specialists can meet.
