EBS and Tartu University signed a cooperation agreement

On June 21, EBS rector Peeter Kross and Tartu University rector Alar Karis signed a strategic partnership and integration agreement between two universities.

The goal of the agreement is to cooperate in the fields of studies and research. The cooperation involves integrating professors and academics into united research projects, developing common lectures and courses, as well as tightening the cooperation in developing the doctoral studies.

According to TU rector Alar Karis, the goal of the cooperation is to achieve the synergy between the fields of economy science and business education of EBS as the leading private university and TU. Also one goal is to commonly use the resources of both universities. “This agreement is the first step in integrating TU and EBS in contextual and spatial way,” said Karis.

EBS rector Peeter Kross assured that the agreement is based on common values in providing the best higher education. “The agreement creates additional opportunities for our doctoral studies and helps to strengthen EBS brand in Estonia as well as internationally.”

Based on the agreement, the universities decided to form a leading commission whose assignment is to analyze the previous cooperation of EBS and TU and develop propositions for further strategic partnership and integration. The leading commission presents its report in February 2012.
