EBS Rector Professor Arno Almann gives an Oath of Office

On September 27th EBS Rector Professor Arno Almann gave an Oath of Office on an official inauguration ceremony in Estonian Business School. The Rector was collared with the Chain of Office by Rector Emeritus Peeter Kross. Arno Almann became the 5th leader of EBS. In 2013 Estonian Business School celebrates its 25th anniversary.

In his inauguration speech Rector Arno Almann showed gratitude to the previous leaders of the university and confirmed that EBS has found its rightful place as a business education providing specialized university in Estonian and international education field. “All our study programmes have been recognised on the state level and the education that is offered by our university has been recognised in Estonia and increasingly abroad as well. As proof of what has been said above are - the participation of EBS in the quality agreement of public universities, the success stories of our graduates, the results of the first academic year of our branch in Finland and the fact that more than 40% of this year´s admission is the students from abroad,” said Rector Almann.

The Rector assured that EBS would like to continue on the same course. “According to our strategic plan, the admission per cent of students from abroad will rise to 50% in the near future. We would like to become more international in terms of our students as well as faculty and study environment. This is what we would like to achieve to guarantee all of our students the best competitive business education in the constantly more demanding labour market,” Rector said. The new 

Rector of EBS was greeted by EBS Founder Madis Habakuk, the Rector of Institute Theology Ove Sander, Toomas Sepp from Tallinn City Government and EBS Rector Emeritus Olav Aarna. From students’, faculty and alumni the Rector was greeted by Anto Liivat.

Established in 1988, EBS is the oldest privately owned business university in the Baltics. With more than 1500 students, EBS’s goal is to give active and business-minded people academic knowledge and the necessary skills to use it. In its twenty years EBS has grown into one of the Baltic’s biggest private universities, teaching entrepreneurship and business administration at Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate levels. EBS has over 70 partner universities from Europe, America, Australia and Asia, enabling a wide exchange of both students and lecturers.
