Estonian Business School hosting EURAM 2011 Conference

In 2011 Estonian Business School, the first private university level business school in Estonia (foundation 1988), is proud to host The European Academy of Management (EURAM) annual conference: "Management Culture in the 21st Century".

The European Academy of Management (EURAM) is a professional community of engaged management scholars and reflective practitioners and is open, inclusive, international and cross-cultural. Its Annual Conference is the main activity that builds and nurtures this community.

The conference in Tallinn builds on the EURAM 2008 conference held in Ljubljana and Bled, which concentrated on diversity in Europe and the implications for leading and managing change. EURAM 2011 takes this theme forward by concentrating on leading and managing change in culture in European countries that are geographically, culturally, historically, economically, institutionally, demographically and socially different.

Liverpool 2009 offered a debate on how ideas about renewal and renaissance can be translated to new environments. Rome 2010 was engaged in the interpretation of the economic downturn and the financial crisis. Tallinn 2011 will focus on cultural transfer from the older EU countries to the newcomers, as well as vice versa. We are looking forward to receiving many of interesting submissions (paper submission deadline is 17 January 2011).

While Estonia might be a small country, it is experiencing a positive transformation process. From January 2011, Estonia will be the third of the new EU countries to introduce the euro, which testifies to the faith the European Central Bank and the finance ministers of the EU have placed in Estonia's economy and its future.

As Tallinn  is the European Capital of Culture in 2011, it is most appropriate that a conference on management culture should take place in this city. The unique value of Tallinn's Old Town lies in the outstanding preservation and conservation of its medieval architecture. The Old Town of Tallinn is on the UNESCO's World Heritage list since 1997.

We are very much looking forward to seeing you in Tallinn where we promise you a warm and generous welcome. The events and venues of the conference are guaranteed to leave in your heart the most beautiful memories and positive emotions that you can take back to your home country.
