TED is a non-profit event bringing together people from three worlds: technology, entertainment and design. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, its scope has become even broader, thus providing the opportunity for TED to create a program called TEDx. It is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.

TEDxLCC, with the theme "Ocean of Courage", is the first TEDx event in Klaipėda. Methods of information included TED Talks video and live speakers, such as Gytis Padegimas, stage director and professor at Klaipėda University, Dr. Gregory Sandstrom, a Professor at Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences, Petras Lisauskas, a dancer and performer, Giedrė Žlabytė, a theater director, Sergej Matiunin, a polyglot who speaks eight languages, and Impro 241", an improvisation theater troupe, who shared their experience about courageous actions that brought value to their lives.

"We believe that the sharing of ideas from different spheres of life helps us discover new talents and connects people with different mindsets", says Alina and Antanas. "It's a great initiative to continue and make TEDxLCC bigger and better in the future. Not only does it broaden the perspectives of the Klaipėda community, it also adds a diverse perspective to LCC".
