First time in Lithuania: Strategic Management Society conference

A group of world-famous strategic management specialists visited ISM University of Management and Economics in Vilnius, where they shared their experience with Lithuanian researchers and CEOs and presented the newest strategic management trends, concepts, and research outcomes. ISM hosted the Extension Day of the Strategic Management Society Annual Conference, titled Strategic Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Transitioning Post-Socialist Economies. It was the first meeting of its kind of world business strategy experts to take place in Central and Eastern Europe.
‘This year the Strategic Management Society Annual International Conference was held in Prague, but Lithuania hosted the Extension Day, which was held in Vilnius. For Lithuania this conference was a chance to demonstrate that we are eager to be part of the most influential scientific society in the area of strategic management and to apply state-of-the-art scientific research standards. Moreover, it is an opportunity to become a partner to the world famous scientific society, to learn from their experience, and to learn to apply the latest scientific research when taking important strategic decisions’, Dr Modestas Gelbūda, research director of ISM University of Management and Economics, said.
The Extension Day of the conference was devoted to small and dynamic economies and their opportunities to find a niche in the global market. The presentations by the lecturers of the conference were accompanied by insights and solutions to the problems that the business sector currently faces shared by businesspersons representing Lithuania and other Baltic countries. The Extension Day of the Strategic Management Society Annual International Conference held in Vilnius received lecturers from the USA, Argentina, Australia and Lithuania.
