Over 21 months, students gain insights into a variety of business models in seven countries on four continents. During the ‘European Week’ the group visited the Netherlands and Poland to get to know the rules governing business in this part of the world and explore global development opportunities of European economies.

Global OneMBA is designed by a partnership of five of the world’s premier business schools:

·         Brazil: Escola de Administração de Empresas de São Paulo da Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV)

·         China: School of Management, Xiamen University (SMXMU)

·         Mexico: EGADE Business School Tecnológico de Monterrey (EGADE Business School)

·         The Netherlands: Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) in cooperation with GFKM from Gdansk, Poland

·         USA: The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) Kenan-Flagler Business School

The welcoming speech, delivered by Andrzej Popadiuk, the President of GFKM, on the historical, cultural, and political background of Poland, was followed by a three day intensive session with presentations by Polish business leaders and economists and a tour of company visits. The participants learned about the specifics of the Polish market and consumer behavior, the differences between private- vs. state-run enterprises, Polish macroeconomic situation, energy and telecommunication sectors.

Participant Koen Pijnenburg, head of IT corporate services at the Dutch Central Bank (DNB), said: ‘The residency was a once-in-a-life experience. It was like an international deep dive into the major societal discussions that are going on throughout Europe and their impact on society and business. As global business leaders, it is us who will be responsible for the changes that lie ahead.’
