LCC Students Reach the Finals of International Business Competition

Four students from LCC International University made it to the top 20 out of 640 participants in the Peak Time Competition.

LCC's team, named "Rock, Paper, Scissors" and featuring senior students Paulius Volikas, Denis Ivanov, Vasile Manea, and Anton Putilin, successfully passed the first two rounds of the competition and were invited to the finals on May 2-5, 2012 in Riga, Latvia.

Peak Time is the biggest international business competition in the Baltic countries. It is organized by Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and has been gaining international recognition since its establishment. The competition consists of three parts: the first one tests students' analytical thinking as well as strategic skills, the second requires participants to present their solutions for real-life problems prepared by professionals from top business companies and the governmental sector, and in the final part students compete in more advanced simulation and cases.

LCC students have been successful at participating in various international and regional business related competitions, conferences and forums. This is the first time they have participated in the Peak Time, and did extremely well in the online business simulation and case study in which they provided consulting services at the level of strategic management. "An interdisciplinary approach to the solution of the case study and a sense of humor, which is predominant in our team, are our keys to success," says team member Denis Ivanov. "Paulius is a philosopher, Vasile is a marketing person, Anton thinks finance is fun and I like economics - that is what made our team successful," he commented.

At the final stage of the competition in Riga, Paulius, Vasile, Denis, and Anton will represent not only LCC, but also Lithuania in general, as there are no other teams from Lithuanian universities.
