EU LLP Erasmus Intensive Programme at Faculty of Engineering Economics and Management of Riga Technical University An intensive ERASMUS programme ”Conducting Interdisciplinary Research in Cross-cultural Environment” organized by Riga Technical University Faculty of Engineering Economics and Management from March 29 to April 10 provided an opportunity for doctoral and master’s students to acquire skills for carrying out modern research. This year the program was held at the University of Technology in Brno (Czech Republic).

Doctoral and master’s students from Riga Technical University, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Lithuania), Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia), Brno University of Technology (Czech Republic), Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iaşi (Romania), University of Valladolid (Spain) and Technical University of Sofia (Bulgaria) took part in the intensive ERASMUS programme, while the teaching staff of these universities shared their knowledge and experience in conducting interdisciplinary  research.

The intensive programme ”Conducting Interdisciplinary Research in Cross-cultural Environment” has been implemented by the teaching staff of the FEEM Department of Finance for the second year. As acknowledged by the Project manager Professor Nataļja Lāce, for doctoral and master’s students from different universities it is a unique opportunity not only to expand their knowledge and broaden their horizons, but also establish contacts which can be very useful in their future scientific activities.

It was pleasant to hear positive comments by the intensive programme participants and representatives of other universities about the topics which let the students look at as if habitual problems and processes from an unconventional and innovative perspective.

At the end of the intensive programme all the participants highly evaluated the programme activities and expressed the hope that this useful form of teaching will be taken over and effectively used also in their universities.
