Students of Kaunas University of Technology in project RECEIVE
In the project "RECEIVE" (Raising Enterpreneurial Competence through Coaching and Evaluation of Intercultural / Interdisciplinary Virtual Exchange) participated students from the six European universities: Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania), University of Granada (Spain), Brno Technical University (Czech Republic), Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (Portugal), The University of Edinburgh (United Kingdom), Corvinus University of Budapest (Hungary).
"Trying successfully to understand the different cultures of business and differences of cultural behavior of virtual communication, is necessary to know the various multi-disciplinary and cross-cultural differences" – was written about Erasmus Intensive Programme "RECEIVE" project in the booklet, made by the students. In this project, students not only pondered the cross-cultural differences and their impact on business, but also developed skills, which will be needed in the future, working in the institutions of business or developing their own businesses.
"Over the past two decades, the promotion and training of entrepreneurship become "fashionable" phrase in the Lithuania and in the others European countries. But as we compared to American entrepreneurship with the Europeans entrepreneurship, we still can find out here a lot of differences between this (American entrepreneurship is in the higher level). It just shows us that it is necessary to implement the various activities in which students would be involved and get an opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial skills" - said the leader of "RECEIVE" project docent Kestutis Duoba.
Students and teachers who participated in an international project, not only had the opportunity to develop entrepreneurial skills, but also to see how they differ from the others, to see the characteristics of the other cultures. Lecturer Dainora Maumeviciene said that: "In the practical way both – teachers and students experienced how to communicate, work, learn and teach in multicultural and multilingual environment in which we face not only the cultural differences, values, norms and traditions, but also the way of thinking of people from other culture".
