The Department of Public Administration, Siauliai University is organizing several events - The Virtual Forum and the International Scientific-Practical Conference, which are intended for the Day of Self-Government in Lithuania.
The Virtual Forum "Transformations of Local Self-Government: Different Approaches" will be held on 15th of October, 2015. All practitioners, members of universities' communities are invited to join this virtual event.

International Scientific-Practical Conference "GOOD GOVERNANCE AT LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENT: THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL TRANSFORMATIONS" will be held on 16-17th of October, 2015 in Šiauliai University, Lithuania. It is already the 4-th international conference, which convenes scientists and practitioners to discuss Good Governance at local and regional levels.
The shift of Public Administration paradigm, concerned with the appearance of new concepts and forms of governance (open, participatory, smart, collaborative governance), implies the researchers and experts from different fields to reveal theoretical and practical changes of governance at local self-government. The Conference aims to bring together scientists and practitioners from all the world for the dialog about Good Governance’s transformations at local self-government, to share their insights and practical experience. Therefore, participants from Lithuanian Universities, governmental institutions, the guests from foreign countries (USA, Turkey, Finnland, Croatia, Slovakia, Poland, Latvia) will present results of their research and will discuss theoretical issues as well as practical transformations.
We expect to bring the message
for our social partners, so two discussions with practitioners will be held as
a coherent part of the Conference.
Open Government theory and practice will be discussed with representatives from
Siauliai City Municipality (16th October).
The question in which hands is the real power of local governance, how the concept of Co-creation could be realized will be the axis of dispute with Communities, acting at Siauliai town and district (17th October).
