Tomorrow Starts Today

On September 15, International Educational Forum “Facing the Future, was held in Kyiv International Convention and Exhibition Center “Parkovy”. This event is one of the top events of this fall business season in Kyiv. International Management Institute had partnered with the “BookChef” Publishing House to organize the event. Prominent international futurists were discussing global challenges during the Forum.

Prof. Iryna Tykhomyrova and Mr. Dmytro Kirprchov are opening the Forum

Yuval Noah Harari, an Israeli historian and philosopher was the keynote speaker of the Forum. He discussed universal history, nations’ transformations and the fate of humankind in the technological revolution era.

 

“We are arguably one of the last generations of human beings. We have now more than 8 billion people living on Earth. The explosion is inevitable,” said Prof. Harari. The question to answer is whether the human race will perish or be transformed into gods.

 

Oleksandr Dombrovsky, Ukrainian politician opened the first section of the Forum named “The Future that We Met” by his inspiring talk. He discussed Ukrainian human resources potential and the changes they were undergoing. “It’s us who own and shape our future,” Mr. Dombrovsky said. 

 

Christopher Cordey, a futurist made a presentation on the “Great Transition” between the agricultural world 1.0 and the 2.0 world of changes and technologies.

 

Mr. Jeetendr Sehdev, the author of “Kim Kardashian Principle” bestseller and a prominent expert in branding explained the principles which people should follow if they want to be successful in the future. His key recommendations included optimism, self-respect and courage to be you. 

 

Prominent Ukrainian business people, business schools’ graduates, and students participated in the Forum. Prof. Iryna Tykhomyrova especially mentioned democratic nature and inclusivity of the “Facing the Future” Forum. 

 

“Our country is undergoing yet another change. So is our society. So is our business. We need our milestones. That’s why we created this platform for the global discussion in Ukraine,” Prof. Tykhomyrova said in her welcome speech. 

 

“Facing the Future” is an international educational forum which MIM-Kyiv has been conducted for 5 years. This year Forum was organized by the School and “BookChef” Publishing House. It was held in the year of MIM-Kyiv’s 30th anniversary.
