TRADITIONAL UDG CHRISTMAS DISCUSSIONS
Traditional 28th UDG Christmas Discussions were held on 6th January 2020. at University of Donja Gorica. This year’s topic was “EU – Reforms or…?”.
Professor. Veselin Vukotic, the Rector, the host and the founder of the Discussions gave his speech together with the following speakers: 1. Dušan Janjić, PhD, director of the Institute for Ethical Relations in Belgrade; 2. Robert Mikac, Faculty of Political Sciences in Zagreb, Croatia; H.E. Mr. Boro Vučinić, Ambassador of Montenegro to Croatia; Dejan Miletić, Center for Globalisation Studies, Belgrade, Serbia and Miloš Perović, Alfa centar, Nikšić.
The host, professor Vukotic, pointed out that The European Union is in crisis, but that the idea of Europe is not. What is also highlighted in the Rector's speech as one of the key messages is that a platform for successful integration are culture and education, never just an economy.
All participants and guests in the Christmas discussions agreed that Montenegro is a leader in the negotiation process and it is not unrealistic that by 2025 it will complete the negotiation process and qualify for membership.
