BA implements research project to mitigate COVID-19

Since 2020 BA School of Business and Finance has been implementing the fundamental research project “Impact of COVID-19 on sustainable consumption behaviour and the circular economy”. The pandemic has shown that citizens and entrepreneurs need assistance in financial management and digital skills to be more environmentally friendly and follow global trends enhanced by scientific-technical progress. Based on the latest scientific knowledge and international experience, the project plans to create a digital platform which would promote training of SMEs and citizens in Financial literacy, Frugal economy which wisely optimizes the use of all available resources, document security in the digital environment, and other issues. The project results will contribute to the financial sustainability, health and well- being, safety and digital resilience of citizens, in particular and circular economy and sustainable development of the society, in general. The research project has been implemented in cooperation with its partners: Latvian Academy of Sports Pedagogy and the University of Liepaja within the framework of the Fundamental and Applied Research Project (FLPP), No. lzp-2020 / 2-0317 and co- funded by Latvian Council of Science.  As the rector dr. Liga Peiseniece pointed: “The project outcome will facilitate Latvia's economic growth and competitiveness by mitigating the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic and will enhance research based teaching”.
