Academician of the RAS and NAS of the Republic of Kazakhstan Toregeldy Sharmanov made a huge contribution to the world and Kazakhstan health care and was awarded the highest award by the World Health Organization - the Leon Bernard medal, he is also Founder and President of the Kazakh Academy of Nutrition.

Rector of AlmaU Gulnar Kurenkeyeva presented Toregeldy Sharmanuly with a diploma confirming the title of Honored Professor of Almaty Management University. The 92-year-old scientist takes the opening of the school as a responsibility.

“My burden is the burden of my offspring. And happiness is to bear this burden,” said Dr. Toregeldi Sharmanuly

Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek sent a video message congratulating on the opening of the school.

“The launch of the school will give a new impetus to health science and could have a significant impact on the healthcare system in Kazakhstan. I am sure that this event has become a starting point in the improvement of the population and will change the lives of Kazakhstanis for the better,” the minister emphasized.

In the 21st century, health sciences are gaining new momentum. Issues of quality of life and longevity, mental health and psychology, nutrition and dietetics and many other topical issues have become the subject of both in-depth scientific research and popularized in wide circles.

Vaiva Lesauskaitė, Vice-Rector for Research at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, Adviser to the European Commission, noted the global trends in health sciences in her speech. Altyn Aringazina, a member of the WHO Advisory Expert Group on Health Promotion, presented the program of the new school.

The WHO National Coordinator for Mental Health in Kazakhstan Nikolay Negai advised to pay special attention to mental health. Member of the American Health Association, President of the Academy of Preventive Medicine and the National Center for Healthy Eating in Kazakhstan Almaz Sharman spoke about how modernity affects a person.

Valikhan Ten, a fitness trainer and author of the “Another You” project, spoke about biohacking. At the same time, he emphasized that he was proud that he studied at AlmaU, emphasizing the concept "The brain is also muscles." Ivan Rybakov, head of the international project "Corporate Prosperity", shared the results of a study on how the health of employees affects business growth.

Since 2012, AlmaU has maintained a close relationship with the health care system of Kazakhstan. Within the framework of the university, the MBA program "Management in the field of healthcare" (more than 200 top managers of medical institutions were trained), consulting projects, seminars and trainings taking into account the needs of the audience.
