Success of BMDA Annual Pre-conference “Is the World really burning out? Challenges, opportunities & lessons of Covid 19”

On May 20, 2021 this BMDA on-line event gathered close to 200 registered participants, coming from 22 countries: Austria, Brazil, Egypt, Czech Republic, Georgia, Estonia, France, Italy, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Lithuania, Latvia, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Russian Federation, the Netherlands, Unites kingdom, Ukraine, USA, China, Switzerland.

 

The Pre-conference started with the welcome words of Dr. Virginijus Kundrotas – President of BMDA and prof. Iryna Tykhomyrova – President MIM Kyiv, host of this virtual event.

 

The first Panel, exploring the Actions, needed at systemic level to avoid burnout, was moderated by prof. Dipak C. Jain - the European President and Professor of Marketing at CEIBS, China/USA. During the panel 3 internationally well-known speakers prof. Eugenijus Laurinaitis - General Secretary of European Association for Psychotherapy from Lithuania; Mr. Pavlo Kovtonyuk - Deputy Minister of Public Health in Ukraine (2016-2019), co-founder of the Ukrainian Health Center (UHC), and Dr. Asher Salmon - Head of the International Relations Department at the Ministry of Health of Israel, were sharing their stories and insights.

 

The second Panel, analyzing the role of Organization's Leadership in avoiding burnout was moderated by Dr. Olga Stangej - business consultant, trainer and associated prof. at ISM University of Management and Economics, Lithuania. 3 panelists, prof. Gopal RajGuru - consultant, business educator, university professor from Switzerland, Ms. Nadia Omelchenko - Vice president at IT-Integrator from Ukraine and Andrzej Borczyk - HR Director of Grupa Żywiec at Heineken Group, Poland, shared their insights and lessons learned in order to preserve positivity of the people and help business to grow.

 

The third part of the Event was dedicated to the actions done by individuals or their groups to cope with the burnout challenge. Personal ideas were shared by Ms. Arune Simanaviciene - Creativity consultant and Founder of TRYS KAIP VIENAS company from Lithuania. Then Dr. Virginijus Kundrotas – BMDA President and Dean of Adizes Graduates school (USA) presented the BMDA respond in fight for burnouts. He presented International Leadership program, developed by MIM Kiev and AGS (USA), focusing on participative leadership approach and on-hands implementation of learning sailing on yachts, as well as 19th Annual BMDA Conference in Tallin on October 6-8, 2021.

 

This international event was finalized by the Final keynote activity - "Finding balance amidst chaos", delivered by Mr. Vasco Gaspar - Human flourishing facilitator, trainer, author from Portugal, who also involved participants into real meditation action, based on Heartfulness practices.

 

The Pre-conference provided participants not only number of insights and examples for solutions to be applied in their professional and personal life, but also provided evidence of the necessity to use not only our brains, but also our hearts in searching for the decisions, and also stressed the importance of cooperation and communication.
