The last day of the 20th Annual BMDA Conference

This year the 20th Annual Conference brought together close to 90 participants from14 Countries: USA, Kazakhstan, Belgium, Check republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Germany, Poland, France, United Kingdom, Finland, The Netherlands.

The third Conference day was dedicated for Business schools’ perspectives. 

The day was opened by inspiring keynote speech by dr. Rolf Alter Changing Mindsets For a Radical Future. According to the keynote speaker, sustainability requires organizing our societies differently. For a change of mindsets - of political leaders, bureaucracies, private sector, citizens – crisis is not sufficient, see COVID_19. We must invest urgently in social innovation which is much more than digitalization.

The first panel “Sustainability Strategies and Skills Development”. The panel addressed multi-angular insights about the on-going issues and become more informed to tackle the industry 4.0 abruptions. Panel was moderated By Dr. Andrius Grybauskas - project Researcher at IN4ACT project, KTU School of Economics and Business,

Lithuania. Panelists: Dr Mari Avaramaa - the Head of Business Administration Department of the School of Business and Governance of TalTech, Estonia; Mr. Andrew Main Wilson - chief Executive of AMBA & BGA – the Association of MBAs and the Business Graduates Association, United Kingdom; Dr. Rolf Alter - Senior Fellow at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin; Member and Vice Chair of the UN Committee of Experts on Public Administration (UNCEPA), Germany.

 

The Second panel “Critical Issues in Curriculum and Educational Program Design” addressed to deeper and early insights into the strategies and conceptual principles for developing dynamic curriculums that prepare students for future multiskilled jobs. Identifying curriculum updating mechanisms to prepare the future workforce for lifelong learning where universities improve students’ competencies to engage in continuous learning throughout their professional carrier.

Panel was moderated by Dr. Morteza Ghobakhloo - ERA Chair Team Member at KTU School of Economics and Business, Lithuania; Dr. Andrea Brose - director of Centre for Teaching and Learning (Hamburg University of Technology - TUHH) and ECIU University Leader for Challenge Based Learning, Germany; Dr. Gulnara Kurenkeyeva - rector of Almaty Management University (AlmaU), Kazakhstan; Ms. Natalia Ilina - accreditation and Member Services Manager, EMEA & AP, AACSB, The Netherlands; Mr. Mindaugas Ubartas - director of DigiTech Sector Association INFOBALT, Lithuania.

 

Leaders of High Education Business Schools took part at Special Session for Deans and Directors General with the keynote speech - Assessing the Challenges of Business Schools in Three steps by Prof. Alfons Sauquet Rovira - Former Dean and Professor ESADE, URL; Director Quality Services EFMD & Director EQUIS, Belgium. And took part at the discussion together with Dr. Ainius Lašas - dean, KTU Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Lithuania; Ms. Natalia Ilina - accreditation and Member Services Manager, EMEA & AP, AACSB, The Netherlands;  Prof. Alfons Sauquet Rovira - Former Dean and Professor ESADE, URL, Director Quality Services EFMD & Director EQUIS, Belgium; Mr. Andrew Main Wilson - chief Executive of AMBA & BGA – the Association of MBAs and the Business

Al this intensive three days knowledge fiesta has been finalized by outstanding Gala dinner and BMDA Awards ceremony, where BMDA members were distributed Significant impact and innovativeness awards.

The next BMDA Conference - April 26-28, 2023 in Riga - hosted by Riga University of Technology!
