The new Great Silk Road is a feasible and near-future project, and China has some plans and objectives for Ukraine as well. The scale of these plans might come as a surprise to Ukrainians even though most materials and initiatives pertaining to this project are public, said Serhiy Lesnyak, a lecturer in International Business and Director of RR Commodities (China), during a meeting with the LvBS Community and founders/ top management of Ukrainian businesses.

RTU CLIMBS THE QS EMERGING EUROPE AND CENTRAL ASIA RANKING

Riga Technical University (RTU) has been ranked 55 in QS Emerging Europe and Central Asia (ECCA) 2018 ranking among 300 leading universities. ECCA is Europe and Central Asia regional ranking that is implemented by QS World University Rankings (QS). The ranking results were published on Monday evening, October 16.

EC VICE-PRESIDENT VALDIS DOMBROVSKIS IS AWARDED RTU HONORARY MEMBER DIPLOMA

On Friday, October 6, at the ceremonial meeting of RTU Senate RTU Rector Academician Leonīds Ribickis awarded the Honorary Member Diploma to the Vice-President of the European Commission (EC) and graduate of the Faculty of Engineering Economics and Management (FEEM) of Riga Technical University (RTU) Valdis Dombrovskis. After the meeting V. Dombrovskis delivered a lecture «Strengthening of European Economic and Monetary Union» to the academic staff and students of RTU. After the lecture, he visited RTU Design Factory and laboratories of the Faculty of Power and Electrical Engineering.

Every year, the conference takes place in one of the partner countries, this year it was organized by RTU FEEM, and was attended by cooperation partners from 14 countries.

Together with him, Artūrs Zeps, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development of Riga Technical University (RTU), will visit CERN thus confirming RTU’s active role in promoting cooperation between Latvia and CERN.

Hundreds of academic caps were thrown up in the air at the end of the graduation party at Riga Technical University (RTU), which took place at “Arēna Rīga” on 30 June and brought together 1343 graduates of bachelor and master level study programs, as well as the academic staff and guests – a total of approximately 6,000 people. This was a unique event in the history of Latvia, when all graduates of such a large university received diplomas at the same time.
